MDO Inc. is engaged in several interesting projects right now ranging from conceptual design of an ex US Naval Vessel to a training vessel for a Public Nautical School, engineering support to the offshore industry to converting a Ro/Ro vessel from a fixed stern ramp system to a slewing stern ramp.

Vessel contract design was developed jointly with Italian shipyard. MDO, Inc. participated in review of all technical documentation and negotiations for construction contract.
MDO Inc. Participation: MDO, Inc. prepared contract design plans and specifications for construction of two barges for transportation of containers, using both lo-lo and ro-ro modes of operation, for movements within NY Harbor area.

Participation: MDO, Inc. carried out feasibility and preliminary design studies for addition of an additional deck (Spar Deck) to two existing Ro-Ro vessels, to substantially increase cargo vehicle stowage. MDO, Inc. prepared all contract drawings and technical specifications for vessel conversion, and carried out approval of shipyard detailed plans and inspection on behalf of owner.
MDO Inc. Participation: MDO, Inc. prepared conversion contract drawings and specifications for modification of inland deck barges to serve as bases for floating three-level ramps for cargo operations of ro-ro barge, and supervised drydocking, repair, and structural modifications to the barges.
MDO Inc. Participation: MDO, Inc. prepared contract drawings and specifications for modification of two triple-deck ro-ro barges, to carry 48-foot trailers and cars. MDO, Inc. supervised modifications to the barge and installation of the car decks.
MDO Inc. Participation: MDO, Inc. provided detailed design approval, Owner's representation and shipyard inspection during vessel construction.
MDO Inc. Participation: MDO, Inc. carried out review and approval of shipyard construction plans on behalf of vessel owner, for construction of five fully refrigerated pallet-type ships. Plan review included hull structure, machinery systems, outfit, and cargo refrigeration and handling. MDO, Inc. assisted owner in project coordination and shipyard negotiations.
MDO Inc. Participation: MDO, Inc. carried out review and approval of shipyard construction plans on behalf of vessel owner, for construction of three fully refrigerated pallet-type ships. Plan review included hull structure, machinery systems, outfit, and cargo refrigeration and handling.
MDO Inc. Participation: MDO, Inc. prepared contract plans and specifications, developed complete material and tools lists, and supervised riding crews in modifying three ships for carriage of an entire additional tier of containers. Modifications included structural additions, container securing, and extensions to vessels electrical power and controlled atmosphere distribution systems.
MDO Inc. Participation: MDO, Inc. developed conversion drawings for modifications to above deck container stowage and new lashing installation on the LANCER Class container vessels purchased by NPR.
MDO Inc. Participation: MDO, Inc. developed detailed engineering plans and specifications for the removal of hoistable car decks and adding three new fixed Ro/Ro decks for carriage of military vehicles. MDO also provided engineering support to vessel operator during on-site conversion and post conversion.
